Wild, Edible and Medicinal
May 16 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm£95
Wild, Edible and Medicinal is a collaboration with plant medicine woman Rachel Corby. We will take a journey with 2 wild foraged plants exploring their uses as food and as medicine. In the morning we will explore the culinary uses of stinging nettles and dandelion to create a seasonal feast to share. You will learn how to identify, where to find and how to harvest these wild, edible and medicinal plants.
During the afternoon we will explore the medicinal qualities of both stinging nettle and dandelion. We will linger with the fragrance and flavour of these, common and easily identifiable, plants and discover their actions within our bodies. We will meditate with the plants to meet their unique spirits and learn a little more about how they may touch us as medicine for our mind and spirit. We will make a remedy with each, a herb infused oil with one, and a tincture with the other. This will allow you the opportunity to continue working with these wonderful plants as medicines, long after the class has concluded.
Rachel Corby is a personal rewilding coach, medicine woman and plant whisperer. She works with the physical medicine a plant provides, but also encourages people to connect directly with the spirit of plants. This approach opens up a whole new world of possibility and respect when working with plants as medicines. The plants are elevated from being merely physical remedies, to becoming both friends and allies, offering emotional and spiritual support alongside their physical actions.
This class is part of the Select Festival.
Natural Cookery School recipes are inspired by the season. Classes are a combination of hands-on and demonstration, with plenty of added tips and knife skills. You will work in small groups in our teaching kitchen, creating the recipes and tasting along the way. We'll enjoy a shared meal at the end of the class, so please bring a container in case of leftovers... You will be provided with an apron to use for the day and recipe packs to take home. No washing up necessary as we have someone on hand to take care of that.
All Natural Cookery School classes are suitable for vegans and most for those who are gluten-free. Please add any dietary requirements or allergy information during the checkout process.
