Residential Cookery and Yoga Weekend

This three day plant based cookery and yoga residential is all about self care and wellness. You will cook beautiful food made with local, organic ingredients and move your bodies with gentle yoga. Set in beautiful Nailsworth, a historic mill town in the Cotswolds, the residential cookery and yoga weekend includes two nights accommodation at the luxury Egypt Mill hotel.  Immerse yourself for the weekend in hands-on cookery lessons and demonstrations learning how to create healing alkaline meals and optional yoga by Warrior & Wild suitable for all.

A taste of the cookery:

  • Discover plant based proteins from whole grains, beans and pulses

  • Salads for all seasons – including the basics of making dressings, composing salads and garnishes

A Taste of the yoga:

Your optional yoga for the weekend will comprise of a mixture of Root and Roam classes at Warrior and Wild Yoga Studio; a short walk away from the Natural Cookery School.

Our Root classes are designed to help you find a moment of calm amongst the chaos. With an emphasis on breath work, easy movement & deep relaxation, these classes aim to soothe the most active of minds, helping to relieve symptoms of anxiety, worry and stress.

Our Roam classes are an opportunity to begin to explore finding space and freedom on your mat. Through these classes you will learn how your body moves and how you can use the power of these practices in tandem with the breath, to change the state of body & mind.

Friday

Begin your weekend by checking into the beautiful and sympathetically restored 16th century Egypt Mill. Unpack in your room and get changed for your first yoga session.Erin will meet you at the hotel to make sure you’re comfortably settled in.

Shortly after, we’ll make our way over to Warrior & Wild yoga studio which is a short 3 minute walk away for your first yoga session:
Root Unwind – Calming, soft & easeful movement to gently release the physical tension we hold in the body- perfect for Friday afternoon!

Upon arrival at the cookery school we’ll enjoy afternoon tea and cake, sweet and natural of course! Afterwards, settle into the kitchen for a hands-on cookery lesson, followed by a lesson on simple yet fabulous seasonal suppers. We will then sit down to a 2-course meal accompanied by organic wines, water kefir and kombucha.

Saturday

Make your way over to Warrior & Wild for your morning yoga session:
Roam Navigate
– Explore the boundaries of how you move, breathe & think with an emphasis on intentional movement. Promoting freedom, ease & balance in the body & mind.

Or if you feel like having a lie and skipping yoga, that’s fine too you can join us for breakfast or have breakfast in the hotel.Pop over to the cookery school for a tasty and nutritious breakfast.  Breakfast will be served with fresh organic coffee, herbal teas and green juice.

After breakfast, you will have a morning break to go back to the hotel and freshen up or have a wander around town, then we will reconvene at the cookery school at 11:30 we will go straight into cooking our lunch.The morning session will focus on a feast for the lunchbox. Busy lives mean we often grab something on the go, so this session will focus on nutritious food to fuel you through the day. We will create a mezze style meal that also works as a fridge filler to have on hand for a busy week and/or a lazy weekend.

After lunch there will be a break for you to relax and enjoy a walk in the woodland, or a nice cup of tea in a local cafe. You could even browse around Nailsworth’s stellar independent retailers. Back in the kitchen to learn Erin’s tricks for quick healthy and delicious suppers.  We will cook and enjoy a 3 course meal accompanied by organic wines, water kefir and kombucha.
End the evening with a slow-paced yoga session to process the day: Root Surrender -soothe the body and unwind the mind as we bring together traditional yin and restorative practices to cultivate a quiet stillness and awareness of the present moment . Give yourself permission to let go as we guide you through a gentle yoga nidra towards the end of class. The perfect way to end your Saturday.

Sunday

Time to pop back to the hotel, pack up and check out. Our last cookery session will cover batch cooking sensational seasonal salads and nutrient rich soups that can be made in advance to help power you through the week ahead.

Price

For three days including all food, ingredients, equipment four yoga sessions and 2 nights accommodation:

  • £525 per person for double occupancy
  • £625 for single occupancy

The recipes will be plant based, gluten free, refined sugar free and vegan. Please let us know about any allergies upon booking.

Tea, coffee, herbal tea and fermented beverages will be available throughout the weekend, along with hand-picked organic wine for the evening meals.

Accommodation

Egypt Mill is an independently owned 16th Century luxury hotel, located in Nailsworth, the idyllic Cotswold town in Gloucestershire.

This sympathetically converted 16th Century Mill offers 32 individually designed ensuite bedrooms and a unique restaurant, which provides the most perfect setting for a refreshing break.

You simply won’t find a more characterful hotel to escape the stresses of everyday life. Of course all the usual essentials are supplied – not to forget the fluffy white towels, quality toiletries, in-room refreshments tray and the all important complimentary Wi-Fi. It even has a cozy fireplace situated in the pub to gather round and enjoy a night cap.

Situated on the banks of the River Frome, its picture-perfect scenic riverside location is the epitome of all that Gloucestershire has to offer. It’s only a short drive away from the cities of Bath, Bristol and Cheltenham, and within easy access from the M5 (J13) and M4 (J18).

Please be aware, due to the age and layout of this beautiful hotel there are a number of steps around the property. Hotel rooms are situated in the main mill and 3 separate buildings within the grounds.
