For a tiny little island, Sri Lankan food delivers with big flavour! Join us for our Sri Lankan cookery class to get a taste of what the country is famous for. We will create the single most popular dish, Parippu – Dhal Curry, and rightly so for its delicious combination of lentils, coconut milk, tempered spices and chilli.
We will show you how to make our plant based verision of the famous hopper, fermented coconut savoury pancake served with pol sambol – a delicious coconut relish. As well as a favourtie curry and fragrant tumeric and lemongrass rice.
Natural Cookery School recipes are inspired by the season. Classes are a combination of hands-on and demonstration, with plenty of added tips and knife skills. You will work in pairs in our teaching kitchen, creating the recipes and tasting along the way. We'll enjoy a shared meal at the end of the class, so please bring a container in case of leftovers. You will be provided with an apron to use for the day and recipe packs to take home. No washing up is necessary as we have someone on hand to take care of that.
